What’s New in Backup Exec 2010 R3
The latest version of Backup Exec, Backup Exec 2010 R3 was made available in May of 2011 and includes substantial improvements to virtualization, archiving, security and reliability.
Virtualization – even faster backups and better compression in virtualized environments and integrated backup management for VMware, now as part of standard download via Backup Exec Management Plug-in for VMware.
Archiving - Backup, recovery and migration for Enterprise Vault 10 installations via the Enterprise Vault Agent. Archive Exchange 2010 SP1 email systems via Backup Exec Archive Option for Exchange. Access archived emails directly from within Outlook via Backup Exec Archive Option for Exchange and new Virtual Vault support.

Storage Hardware
Backup Exec requires at least one storage media drive and/or single-drive robotic library and the appropriate controller card. Removable storage devices and non-removable hard drives can also be targeted for backups.
Note: Support for a single robotic library drive is available when you purchase Backup Exec. To enable support for additional robotic library drives, you must purchase Backup Exec Library Expansion Option.
