What is a Projector?

Today we’re going to dive deeper into the authority of an Emotional Projector. The inner authority we’re talking about is called the emotional authority.

We’re going to get into the mechanics of how the emotional authority operates, learn about a famous Emotional Projector, the specific waves the Solar Plexus emits depending on what channel you have defined in the center, and also how to take care of and decondition the emotional center in order for it to perform correctly.

How Does The Emotional Authority Operate?

If you’re looking at your BodyGraph and the Solar Plexus is defined (colored in), then this means you have an emotional authority. So for you, when you get recognized and invited, you have to WAIT to allow your emotional wave to flow through, which will allow for more clarity. Clarity comes from your emotions. Therefore, emotional healing, emotional integration work, and giving more attention to your emotions is a MUST. You can not find clarity if you're disconnected from your emotions as an Emotional Projector. Making decisions in the present moment is the opposite of how you should live your life ; Splenic Projectors are the only Projectors that are designed to follow the in-the-moment-decision-making strategy.

Out of all the authorities, the emotional authority--stemming from the Solar Plexus--is the strongest. And that's pretty easy to know because if someone has a strong emotional response, it can take over everything. It can take over their decision-making capabilities. For example, if someone is angry, they’re going to act through the lens and perception of that anger. Unless they're highly advanced and developed emotionally, where they can allow the anger to be present and witness it for what it is--energy in motion--then their decision making is going to be filtered by the anger and will also be influenced to make spontaneous decisions.

If you've got a defined Solar Plexus center, what's going to happen is that your emotions are going to go up and down in waves. And you should allow your waves to go up, down, and through its cycle. It could go on for a few days or it could even go for a week, but allow yourself to be patient as you ride these emotional waves.

Waiting  is the name of the game for you, Emotional Projectors. The more time the better . When you’re being invited to make a big decision, you have to wait in order to get clarity about the decision. The bare minimum is to sleep on the decision , but only you will know when the decision is right for you. One thing I do want to note is that it’s rare to get 100% clarity, but the goal is to get as clear as possible .

How about if the person who invited you is checking back in to ask if you’ve decided to move forward with the decision, but you’re still unclear? You ask for more time. Part of the Human Design experiment is to see if the invitation is really correct for you because you have this juicy motor that can really draw in people and invitations, and when you wait, you actually become more magnetic, to the correct people. This takes a great deal of self-worth because you can compromise for an invitation that “will just do” since you feel there won’t be another opportunity like this again. Or, your perspective can be clouded because the opportunity may seem right from the outside looking in but is not an invitation that will make you feel truly fulfilled from deep within. Remember, you become magnetic to the right people and invitations when you wait for clarity and not make a decision from an emotionally-charged state.

Emotional Projectors must wait after being invited because you're not designed to make decisions in the present moment where you're emotionally high or emotionally low. In Human Design, we say that you must ride out your emotional wave because your Solar Plexus Center can make you feel high emotions and low emotions that will cloud your ability to discern the purity of the invitation.

I’ve seen many conditioned emotionally-defined people live their lives by making impulsive decisions and wonder how they ended up having the life they have. When I first found out about this authority it was a game-changer for me because I now had a practical tool to offer my emotional authority clients who lived spontaneously. Yes, there are many factors that play out in why people are conditioned such as their upbringing, parents, trauma, getting bullied, etc., but what I love about Human Design is that it empowers us to own our worth by giving us applicable knowledge of knowing that if we honor our strategy and authority, we’ll know if a decision is correct for us or not. For example, if you’re an Emotional Projector and you wait a couple of days after being offered a lucrative job, but it doesn’t feel right for you, then you’ll be empowered to know that there is an even better opportunity waiting for you. You won’t compromise and settle--the story of many conditioned Projectors. There is still inner work to be done, but Human Design offers an incredible launching pad into our personal transformation.

Patience  is key for you, Emotional Projectors. Spontaneous decisions are decisions made by your Not-Self. Remember, the more time the better, and know that your strategy and authority is there to empower you to not compromise and settle for an invitation that doesn’t feel right for you. You will know which invitation is correct for you because you have waited to ride out your emotional wave, and from a calm place deep within you find clarity and make your decision from this place.

Famous Emotional Projector

As Projectors, we do very well one-on-one, that’s because we absorb the energy of the person in front of us, and then our aura focuses straight into the other’s G (identity) centers, so they truly feel seen and recognized by us. However, this doesn’t mean that we can’t be leaders of groups, large organizations, or even nations. A great example of a Projector with an emotional authority who rose to the top of the ladder of the United States of America, was the 35th president, John F. Kennedy.

Being a young president, he was greatly inexperienced, but he surrounded himself with the smartest people he could find (a Projector strength) to be part of his administration.

Politics aside, JFK had a different demeanor to him. His speeches were captivating and he was well-liked by the public. He brought electricity (energy in motion, emotion) to the white house and people wanted to find out more about JFK, the first lady, and their family. The public wanted to know more about JFK, but the president’s team was able to cover up one of the best-kept secrets of U.S. history--JFK’s lifelong health problems.

JFK was born into a wealthy family connected to politics and grew up being the oldest brother alongside 8 siblings. He came from a family where winning was everything as well as holding your own (a defined heart center trait). As a child, he frequently had health issues that didn’t end during his youth. Being a Projector and only having two centers defined, we can see how he was most likely absorbing the energy of his siblings through his open seven centers and was conditioned since childhood by his father to be a go-getter. It was all about winning for the Kennedy’s. We can see how having this mindset about always pursuing what you desire--with no rest--can have detrimental effects on a Projector’s health.

Even though he only had two centers defined, they were both motors: the Solar Plexus and Heart Center. This made JFK an energy Projector (the other two are Classic and Mental Projectors) which means that he has more energy than the other Projectors. But just because you have motors defined, doesn’t mean you have the long-lasting energy like the one that comes from the Sacral Center. You still have to be mindful about how you expend your energy by getting ample rest, which JFK didn’t adhere to and we saw how this played out with his health.

It wasn’t that he just had two motor centers that made him have more energy than other Projectors, but he also had his Heart (a.k.a. Ego or Will) Center defined. Having his Heart Center colored in meant that he had the will to follow through with invitations. The problems that can arise from this definition is that he could've (and most likely did) will himself through invitations that potentially were not correct for him, which ended up leaving him with a range of health issues.

JFK also had an undefined Root Center. This center is one of two (the other being the Head) pressure centers we have. Having an undefined Root Center means you have the potential to be under constant pressure to relieve stress. If one doesn’t learn to properly handle stress, then you can see problems with the adrenal glands, which we saw in the 35th president. One of his many health ailments was Addison’s disease, which is characterized by a deficiency of the hormones needed to regulate blood sugar, sodium, and potassium, which is often caused by constantly responding to stress.

There were many other conditions that John F. Kennedy was battling with, but his will (defined Heart Center) pulled him through to show up for the American people up until his death. It’s actually quite shocking how many conditions he had and how many medications he was taking. His doctors had to pump him with drugs just so he can make appearances and give speeches. Learning about JFK reminds me of the many Projectors who are suffering and are trying to keep up with everyone else. This is why we at The Projector Movement focus on Projectors: we want to teach Projectors about their sensitive and unique mechanism so they can live a life full of vitality and longevity.

An aspect of JFK that really stood out in a beautiful way was his emotional capacity. It felt like he really honored this aspect of himself and was in part a great reason the American people related to him so much, it was via his emotional nature.

The Specific Waves that the Solar Plexus Emits

As a person who has their Solar Plexus defined, this means you emit emotions in a wave-like fashion. This is why we say you have to ride out your emotional wave going up and down until your emotions settle so you can get clarity. This emotional wave, however, has four different patterns it forms depending on which channel you have connected to the Solar Plexus. So let’s get into them so you have a better idea of how you process your emotions.

The Source of All Wave Mechanics

Channel 59-6 (The Channel of Mating) is one that Projector will not have because this is a Generator channel.

The Tribal Wave

Channels 19-49 (The Channel of Synthesis) and 37-40 (The Channel of Community) indicate people who operate from a need for physical touch and sensitivity. If you or your partner have this wave it is important to understand the mechanics behind this frequency because this wave can surprise you. It operates in a way that ratchets up until, out of nowhere, it explodes and you didn’t see it coming. If you see the graphic above, the wave goes up a little bit, then down a little bit, but even though it goes down for a bit, the wave is still going in an upward direction. If not handled responsibly, the wave slowly ratchets up, until suddenly, you emotionally act out and the people around you don’t know where it came from.

Problems can arise with people who have The Tribal Wave who don’t know how to communicate their needs. For example, let’s say you’re a woman who has this wave and you’re in a relationship with a man who has a totally open emotional center. You both come home after a long day at work and you want to talk about how your day went and need some physical touch to get grounded, but your partner wants to unwind by having a beer and watching the football game. This pattern repeats itself for a few weeks. Each day you get more upset and wonder why your partner doesn’t know that all you want is some undivided attention for 30 minutes. That’s all you need. You just need him to listen to you while he holds you for less than an hour, but he doesn’t realize your needs. So after weeks of him unwinding by watching TV, you lash out at him for not being there for you. Your partner is caught by surprise because he thought everything was fine and now he’s furious too because he has an open center and is amplifying your feelings. You get into a heated argument that could’ve been avoided by you knowing your needs and communicating them from a grounded unattached place.

If you have The Tribal Wave, it’s of great importance to communicate your needs. Your partner doesn’t know what you need if you don’t tell him. He was just enjoying his evening after a long day at work by watching sports; he wasn’t aware that you needed him to just listen to you and hold you in his masculine presence. This goes both ways. If you’re a man with this wave, please also communicate what you need.

One of the most important things you need to communicate with your partner if you have this wave is that you need physical touch. Since The Tribal Wave operates out of physical touch and sensitivity, intimacy is highly required. This can look like giving foot massages, a long comforting hug, or simply putting your arm around your partner while you both lounge around after a long day at work. However it is done, touch is very much needed for the person with this wave in order to release and integrate emotional tension.

The Individual Wave

People who have channels 39-55 (The Channel of Emoting) and 22-12 (The Channel of Openness) are individuals who need to know when to be alone and when to be social because their emotions are pretty even-keeled until smaller, shorter, up and down spikes appear. As you can see from the graphic above, this person can appear mellow, then passionate, then back to stable, and then to feeling moody.

As with all these waves, it’s important to understand the frequency of the wave to learn how to process the emotions. So when you have an upward spike in your emotional wave, then this is a great time to be around people. You’ll be filled with passion and have the emotional capacity to be social.

If you have The Individual Wave, you also need to understand that you may appear fine and then all of sudden feel melancholic. Instead of trying to label and figure out why you’re feeling moody, it’s best if you can go somewhere alone to process your emotions.

Problems arise when you feel something is wrong with you. Know that what you’re going through is just a chemical process. Emotional waves are part of your chemistry. It’s neither bad nor good . It’s what makes you unique.

Since your wave has shorter and smaller spikes, this means you’ll only be feeling “down” for a short period of time. At this time, it’s highly recommended to just be with your emotions (which we’ll go into great detail in the next section) and to creatively express yourself.

The Abstract Wave

Channels 36-35 (The Channel of Transitoriness) and 41-30 (The Channel of Recognition) expresses itself through desire and feeling going from peaks to valleys. What’s important to understand about people with The Abstract Wave is to enter situations just for the experience, not expecting anything out of it. It’s when you expect a desired outcome and it doesn’t manifest where you’ll crash into a valley.

Let’s say you’re a man who has The Abstract Wave and is ready to enter a relationship. You’re in your 30s and have a good career. You haven’t dated in a few years, but feel ready to find a woman who shares a similar vision of wanting to settle and start a family. Your friends line you up with a woman who you’ve been hearing may share the same values as you. You go on the first date and it goes extremely well, so you start to imagine the life that you two can create together. You think of where you would settle down, how many kids you will want to have, what places you will vacation together, etc., only to find out you weren’t her type. Your wave quickly goes from a peak straight into a valley.

The key to transcending this wave is to enjoy life, just for the experience of it. In this particular case, the gentleman with The Abstract Wave could’ve set his intention to enjoy the woman’s company and to get experience in being back in the dating scene. You never know when you’re going to find a partner that is going to be the one you want to settle down with. Dating is a time where you get to experience what type of people you enjoy being with and you also get to learn more about who you are. Instead of fantasizing about what could be with every person, or any situation, set your intention to just enjoy life and know that what is correct for you will come as long as your strategy and inner authority are respected.

In Conclusion About The Waves

If you have a defined Solar Plexus, then you have a fixed way of emitting emotions. If you have an undefined or open Solar Plexus, then you absorb the emotions of those with a defined emotional center. Whichever you are, know that the emotional waves you are experiencing are not you . We need to be careful about not identifying with the emotions we are experiencing . The waves are simply there to take us to our heights as well as depths. Emotions are what make life beautiful. Imagine if we didn’t have any feelings? Life would be all mechanical and boring.

Regardless of the wave frequency you have, it’s vital for your success to understand that you must always wait and ride out your emotional wave to get clarity about the correctness of your invitation. In order to know the purity of an invitation, you need to have a healthy Solar Plexus. After this next section, I’ll be sharing how to nurture your emotional center so you can approach an invitation from pure awareness.

One last thing about the waves, since these are channels that are formed by the gates within the Solar Plexus that are connected to gates to other centers, each gate within the Solar plexus has an implication on the type of energy you emit. If you want to learn more in-depth about each specific gate, we go into them deeply in “The Ultimate Projector Guide” training and how to uplevel their frequency and vibration.

Not only is the Solar Plexus Center a motor, but it is also one of the three awareness centers (the other two being the Splenic Center and the Ajna Center). Being an awareness center means that it carries certain fears. Nervousness is how the fear is experienced through the Solar Plexus Center. Let’s get a brief view of the Gates.

The Gates of the Solar Plexus Center

There are 64 gates in Human Design, just as there are 64 Gene Keys, and 64 hexagrams in the I Ching. These are almost like laws of the universe. There are 64 slices in the sky that carry a certain frequency and depending on where the planets are in the sky the moment you're born and 3 months before you're born, will determine which gates they'll have activated and this will give you your specific software.

How to Nurture and Decondition the Solar Plexus Center

The Solar Plexus Center is a powerful center. This is actually where a great deal of the mutations are occurring that will come into full fruition in 2027. And as I mentioned earlier, 50% of the population have an emotional authority, as well as 50% of Projectors have emotional authority as well. So this is telling us a lot about the direction we are heading in. We can already feel massive shifts happening, and these huge shifts are occurring around our emotional centers.

The direction we’re heading is one where humans start to value and embody emotional intelligence. For the longest time, we valued mental intelligence, and rightfully so, the mind had to grow in order for humans and society to evolve, but now, emotions are going to play a huge role in how we live our lives.

People with defined Solar Plexus Centers have this juicy motor and energy resource that people desire. Defined Solar Plexus people emit emotions, whereas Undefined/Open Solar Plexus people absorb and amplify them. So, it’s very important if you’re emotionally-defined to decondition and tend to your emotions so you can not only make the correct decisions for yourself, but to also help others have a clean energy resource when being around you. What I mean by this is that if you're a conditioned Projector that is making spontaneous decisions and isn’t aware of your emotional highs and lows, this can greatly influence other people (who are living from their Not-Self)to act the same way. People are attracted to you, but if you’re someone who’s living in their Not-Self (not being your authentic self), then you’re going to emit chaotic frequencies that aren't good for anyone.

So then, how does a Projector decondition their Solar Plexus so they not only make the correct decisions, but also help guide others in their emotional process?

Before I answer that question, let’s tackle this one, “What is an emotion?”

Emotion is energy in motion.

As I’ve said, we live in an extremely emotional world, over 50% of the population has a defined Solar Plexus center. Unfortunately, there's very little awareness, guidance, or teaching around the emotional body. The emotional body out of the spiritual, physical, and mental bodies, probably has the least amount of attention on it through our educational system, societal practices (e.g., religion), and through our family upbringings because it's so unknown, mysterious, volatile, chaotic and unpredictable. Therefore, people have sort of shunned this part of themselves.

Often, all of us grow up with very immature emotional bodies. So then when we look out into the world, we see chaos, and we see disturbances. It’s almost like children are running the world, emotionally speaking anyway. The emotional bodies of most people often stop developing around the age of 7 and don’t really mature much from there. This is an issue. This emotional center is still growing, it's not fully mature yet. It's like a young child. And unless we do some real emotional healing and work then we will remain in this emotionally underdeveloped state. If we can start to become aware and gain more maturity in this part of ourselves, then we can go about creating huge healings within ourselves physically, mentally, spiritually, and of course emotionally.

Back to our original question: How does one decondition their Solar Plexus center?

What we want to do is heavily reconnect to our emotional bodies. What you want to do is allow the emotions to move through and process; not to identify with them. So how do we do this?

To decondition our Solar Plexus center we have to be aware of our emotions, rather than dissociate from them. Dissociation is when your awareness actually leaves yourself and it's almost like you're on autopilot and you don't feel anything because you've just energetically left. If you go on autopilot when a stressful event happens, then this is a survival mechanism to protect yourself from experiencing those unpleasant emotions. Another sign of dissociation is when you simply keep thinking and thinking and thinking and your mind keeps your attention in the past or future in the hope of you not feeling your unpleasant emotions. Your mind in these moments thinks it’s doing you a service but in reality it’s often a pretty big disservice.

What's ideally going to happen when stressful events occur is that we become centered, rooted, and grounded in ourselves at a very deep level so then we can feel these emotions and have them move through us. Just because emotions may not feel pleasant doesn’t mean we want to avoid them. They are there for a reason. And actually, emotions are so enriching because, without them, we would have a very monotone existence. So, this gives us the richness of life, but then to have the awareness to witness the emotion and allow the emotion to be as it is, that's the key. If you’re wanting to totally transform your relationship with your emotional body then we have a profound training for you, The Ultimate Projector Deconditioning Journey .

As already mentioned about the mind, many people like to control emotions and the control comes from the mind. When people get sad, angry, jealous, or any other uncomfortable or unpleasant emotion, the mind wants to control that experience. And it will do that by distracting itself or shutting down the emotion through alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, social media, or anything to escape the pain inside. This is all coming from a controlling place. When we do this, the emotional body stays at a very immature place.

When an unpleasant emotion such as sadness, jealousy, anger, loneliness, or whatever it is, I want you to start to identify WHERE in the body that is. Identify where in your physical body the emotion is and just feel it. Accept the emotion and be with it. Give it your undivided attention. And in doing so, you start to re-parent these emotions that often originated all the way back in your childhood. All the way back from when we were three years old for example, where we had a joyful experience and we we're like, “Hey, mom, look at this,” and something happened. Maybe we knocked the glass off the table and then we were yelled at and we were punished. And that's a sort of normal situation. A lot of people have really intense traumatic situations as well. But we all have situations where our emotions were running through us and then they were NOT accepted and shut down. And this is when we begin to shame ourselves and shut these emotions down from such a young age.

All these emotions are wanting to come through from childhood. They want to come up into our awareness and the way that they're healed is to give them full presence, full acceptance, and time and space just to be held in your own awareness. Then, they can start to move again because they've been stuck. Remember an emotion is energy in motion, and by giving them your attention and acceptance they actually start to find more motion and release from the body. This is true healing.

If you've got a defined Solar Plexus, then when you begin to allow your emotions to flow more and more, you can listen to your emotional wave and get true clarity, because your awareness is truthfully allowing the emotions to be. Most people do not allow and accept an emotional response. What happens is we think we're listening to this wave, but it's actually just mixed with trauma and suppression. And it's just unclear, the wave is unclear. So truly listen and accept your emotions and then you can give time to this wave. And people with an undefined Solar Plexus like myself, or a totally open Solar Plexus, what this allows us to do, is to go out in the world and rather than be totally bombarded with emotions and get shut down, we can allow the emotions to come through and move through us also. If we all choose to do this, then we will grow up in a more emotionally integrated world, which is vitally important at this time.

If you look at a baby who is one or two years old, watch their emotional range. They've got a huge emotional range because they're allowing their emotions to flow uninhibited. Then if you look at a 12-year-old, the emotional range has been cramped and squashed. Our upbringing and society have conditioned us to label emotions as good and bad. We’ve been influenced to believe we need more of the good-feeling emotions and we need to suppress the unpleasant-feeling emotions. So we start to really constrict our emotional selves at a very young age. The issue is whenever we constrict one emotion we start to constrict all emotions.

My invitation to you is to reawaken your emotions. It's not about how good you feel. It's about how good you are at feeling. I want you to invite that in, “It's really not about me feeling good today. It's about how much can I allow myself to feel and breathe through these feelings and accept them.” Because what's going to happen each and every day, is that an emotion is going to come through your awareness (most likely multiple emotions), which is who you are and you experience the world through pure awareness, through the lens of the five senses, but behind the five senses, you’re pure awareness, your energy. That's what I am, that's what you are, and that's what life is; just pure awareness that came here to experience itself, through the senses, and potentially beyond.

What's going to happen is an emotion is going to arise and rather than the mind coming in and judging and controlling it, you’re going to slow down the breath and give yourself time. Pure awareness is going to come through and it's going to meet this emotion. Yes, it's more challenging when it's an unpleasant emotion, let's say emptiness or loneliness. However your awareness comes in and meets this emotion is everything in your life. This has the potential to create magic in your world, and it also has the potential to create suffering and destruction. So if you meet this emotion with “that's a bad emotion, I need to shut it down. I need to constrict it and control it. Why am I feeling this again? Is there something wrong with me?” This is the deepest form of self-rejection and of self-hatred because this is a unique expression coming through you. If this emotion (energy in motion) comes up and you meet it with total acceptance, wonder, curiosity, space, and time, then this is the greatest act of self-love you can give to yourself because it's accepting the deepest, most vulnerable parts of yourself that were rejected way back in childhood. And ultimately, massive levels of transformation can occur very quickly in your life.

I wanted to share about the Solar Plexus so those of you who are Emotional Projectors can know when an invitation is correct for you, to understand the particular waves that you feel depending on which channel you have connected to the Solar Plexus, and to teach you how to nurture and decondition this emotional center. I hold this topic of utmost importance at this time in the world for human beings so YOU can take back your power, so you can take back your life, and so you can ultimately create the life that you really want.

Journey well,

Charlie @ The Projector Movement
