目前從事的研究工作主要是司法原理、法律職業(yè)研究以及“先行法治化”研究。2005教育部跨世紀優(yōu)秀人才計劃“法律職業(yè)與法治”（20萬(wàn)元）；浙江省政府社科規劃辦“先行法治化”（10萬(wàn)元）。
在法理學(xué)-法哲學(xué)，在司法原理、程序法理、公法理論等方面有專(zhuān)門(mén)的學(xué)術(shù)貢獻。代表作為《程序的法理》、《法的現象與觀(guān)念》、《法律對行政的控制》。在《中國社會(huì )科學(xué)》、《法學(xué)研究》、《中國法學(xué)》等刊物發(fā)表論文100余篇。
現任中國法理學(xué)研究會(huì )副會(huì )長(cháng)、教育部法學(xué)教育指導委員會(huì )委員、全國法律碩士專(zhuān)業(yè)學(xué)位教育指導委員會(huì )委員,國際法律哲學(xué)-社會(huì )科學(xué)協(xié)會(huì )會(huì )員（IVR）及其中 國分會(huì )副會(huì )長(cháng)、省法學(xué)會(huì )副會(huì )長(cháng)、省法理學(xué)與法史學(xué)研究會(huì )會(huì )長(cháng)，省法制研究所所長(cháng)，市人大常委會(huì )立法咨詢(xún)委員會(huì )副主任委員。

Recently my work chiefly concerned with Judicial Theory, legal profession and Leading legalizatation in developed districts of China. The subjects I am dealing with including “ legal profession and Rule of Law”, which was relating to the ministry of education’s straddling centuries elite project, and “Leading legalizatation in developed districts”, which was assigned by the planning office of social sciences in Zhejiang province.
I am specified in the field of Jurisprudence , Public Law Theory, and Judicial Theory。 My representative work including “the theory of legal process”, “l(fā)egal phenomena and concepts”, “the legal control of administration”. There are over one hundred essays of mine published in the journals, such as “Social Sciences in China”, “China legal law”, “cass journal of law”.
I am a member of the assigning topic group of the Chinese “Judicial Master” evaluation commission, vice president of China Society of Legal Theory, a member of IVR, vice president of Zhejiang Society of Jurisprudence, director of Institute of Zhejiang Legal System, co-director and member of Legislation Consultation Committee of People’s Congress of Hangzhou.
