You know how wonderful you are, and you know that others know how wonderful you are, but what do you do when admiration crosses over the line into jealousy(嫉妒)? For most teens there will come a day when you realize that one of your friends is jealous and that this jealousy is hurting your friendship. When this happens it can seem like there is nothing that you can do, but the good news is that there is. Don’t let jealousy spoil your relationships. Deal with it confidently and you might be back to normal much sooner than you think.
It can be hard to walk up to a friend and ask them what the
problem is, but if you want to save your friendship you’ll have to
do just that. Don’t approach them and ask why they are jealous of
you unless of course you want to appear totally conceited

and let them know that you’ve been feeling like there’s been
something coming between you. If they refuse to respond, then use

that something you say will strike a nerve and your friend will
open up as well.
When you figure out what is annoying your friend, ask him or her what (s)he thinks would make the situation better. If, for example, (s)he says that (s)he feels like (s)he doesn’t get to spend any time with you because of your being off with your new friends from the swim team then maybe you could invite her along the next time or block off one day a week for just the two of you. Remember, though, that whatever solution you decide on should be a compromise. Don’t limit your own talents or opportunities simply because your friend is unhappy. Try instead to include him or her in your new life and see how that works out.
Even the best of friendships can be ruined by jealousy. This
destructive emotion is rarely productive and can turn best friends
into worst enemies. Before taking extreme
action, chat with your jealous friend to see if the two of you can
work out a compromise. If you can’t, be prepared to know exactly
how far you will go to keep your friend and how far you won’t.

One day I was walking home along the street with my iPod on,
when suddenly my headphones(耳機) were knocked off my head and a man
threw his arm around my neck, saying “Just be quiet.” I was being
attacked, and this man’s arm was gripping (緊夾) onto me! I started

forcing me to walk towards the back of an auto repair shop and he

I have never had any self-defense(自衛) training, but I went for

After my experience, I was afraid to do anything. Things slowly got better, but I still don’t like anyone going near my neck.

The Saturday Evening Post 2015 Great American Fiction Contest is underway!
In its nearly three centuries of existence, The Saturday Evening Post , a bimonthly magazine, has published short fiction by a who's who of American authors including F.Scott Fitzgerald, William Faulkner, Anne Tyler, Kurt Vonnegut, Jr．Ray Bradbury, Louis L’Amour, Sinclair Lewis, Jack London, and Edgar Allan Poe． You have the opportunity to join our excellent line - up by entering The Saturday Evening Post's Third Annual Create American Fiction Contest．
The winning story will be published in the Jan/Feb 2015 edition of The Saturday Evening Post, and the author will receive a $ 500 payment．Five runners - up will each receive a $ 100 cash payment and will also have their stories published online．
Submission（投稿） Guidelines
● Stories must be between l,500 and 5,000 words in length．
● All stories must be submitted by the author, and previously unpublished（not including personal websites and blogs）．
● No extreme profanity or graphic sex scenes．
● All stories must be submitted online in Microsoft Word format with the author's name, address, telephone number, and email address on the first page．
●Entries should be character or plot - driven pieces in any genre（體裁）of fiction．
