People are asking a publisher in Hebei Province to reprint its two books that teach teenagers how to court and date 24 years after their first print.
The books, published in 1989, suddenly become popular again after someone posted a few pages taken from the books on Weibo, the Chinese version of Twitter, yesterday.
"Some girls look serious but they may pretend to be offended. If you really think she is angry, then you are wrong," one paragraph in "How to Conquer Pretty Girls" said. The book also teaches readers how to talk about sex properly.
As a sequel, "How to Conquer Handsome Boys" was written by the same author Liu Guozhang and was also published by Hebei People's Publishing House.
Some Weibo tweeters said the books failed to catch much attention in those days because people had less difficulty finding a date as they would now. The number of unmarried people is increasing each year due to fierce workplace competition and limited social circles.
"I finally understand why I have been single for 20 years! I read too few books," one Weibo post said.
