I dreamed I had an interview with GOD
我夢(mèng)見(jiàn)自己與上帝面談。
"So you would like to interview me?" GOD asked.
“你想和我談?wù)劊?#8221;上帝問(wèn)。
"If you have the time," I said.
“如果你有時(shí)間的話(huà)，”我說(shuō)。
GOD smiled, "My time is eternity... What questions do you have in mind for me?"
上帝笑著(zhù)說(shuō)：“我的時(shí)間就是永恒...... 你心里有什么疑問(wèn)想問(wèn)我嗎？”
"What surprised you most about humankind?"
“人類(lèi)最讓你吃驚的是什么？”
GOD answered, "That they get bored with childhood, they rush to grow up, and them long to be children again."
上帝回答說(shuō)“他們厭倦了童年，所以急著(zhù)長(cháng)大；然后又向往回到童年。”
"That they lose their health to make money, and then lose their money to restore their health."
“他們犧牲健康以賺取金錢(qián)，然后又花大量的金錢(qián)想恢復健康。”
"That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live in neither the present nor the future."
“因為迫切想知道將來(lái)，他們忘了現在。因此，他們既不活在現在，也不在將來(lái)。”
"That they live as if they will never die, and die as though they had never lived."
“活著(zhù)的時(shí)候，就像自己永遠都不會(huì )死亡。死亡的時(shí)候，就像從來(lái)沒(méi)有活在這世上一樣。”
GOD‘s hand took mine and we were silent for awhile.
上帝拉著(zhù)我的手，我們沉默了一會(huì )兒。
And then I asked, "As a parent, what are some of life‘s lessons you want your children to learn?"
然后我又問(wèn)：“那么現在，您想讓您的孩子們明白哪些人生的道理呢？”
"To learn they cannot make anyone love them. All they can do is let themselves be loved."
“他們要明白，無(wú)法讓所有人都愛(ài)他們。唯一能做的是讓自己被愛(ài)。”
"To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others."
“要明白，不要拿自己和別人比較。”
"To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness."
“要以寬仁的心去原諒。”
"To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in those they love, and it can take many years to heal them."
“要明白，只需幾秒鐘就可以觸痛愛(ài)人的傷口，卻要很長(cháng)的時(shí)間才能使之愈合。”
"To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most, but is one who needs the least."
“要明白富有的人并不是擁有最多的人，而是索取最少的那個(gè)。”
"To learn that there are people who love them dearly, but simply do not yet know how to express or show their feelings."
“要堅信，世上一定有一個(gè)深?lèi)?ài)自己的人，只不過(guò)還不知道如何表達出來(lái)。”
"To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it differently."
“要明白，同一件事情在兩個(gè)人的眼中可能截然不同。”
"To learn that it is not enough that they forgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves."
“要明白，僅僅互相原諒使不夠的，還要學(xué)會(huì )寬恕自己。”
"Thank you for your time," I said humbly, "Is there anything else you‘d like your children to know?"
“謝謝您，”我謙恭地說(shuō)，“還有沒(méi)有別的呢？”
God smiled and said, "Just know that I am here." "Always."
上帝微笑著(zhù)說(shuō)：“相信我在那里。”
