1. First you have to download the package, this can be found on eather the Xenapp or XenDesktop Section.
What you have access to depends the status of your Subscription Advantage.
The downloads contains the install package, support documentation, and the ADM group Policy template.

1.首先下載組件，可以在Xenapp或Xendesktop部分找到該組件。
你能訪(fǎng)問(wèn)什么取決于SA（Subscription Advantage）狀態(tài)。

2. Next up is to install the profile Services. (X86 or X64, depending on Operating system)
The Profile Services must be installed on each server, hosting applications that you want Citrix UPM to handle.
In the target installation directory you will also find the INI files, containing the settings needed, by default all user settings are captured.
2.接下來(lái)安裝profile services。（x86或是x64，取決于操作系統）
Profile services必須安裝在想要用Citrix UPM(user profile management)管理的托管應用程序的每一臺服務(wù)器上。
在目標安裝目錄你會(huì )找到INI文件，這個(gè)文件包括必要的設置，默認情況下所有用戶(hù)設置都會(huì )被記錄在這個(gè)文件中。
3. To enable the Citrix User Profile Management after installation (if you chose not to use GPO) is to edit the INI file in the target installation path and change set “ServiceActive=1” in the general settings section of the file. Also remember to remove the Seimicolon at the beginning of the line to make it active.
Thats everything when using INI files to configure the UPM.
By default all user accounts will be processed except Administrators.
If you chose to use Group policy to configure Citrix UPM, you will perform step 1 and Step 2 as described above and go direct to step 4 bellow.
3.安裝完畢后，通過(guò)編輯目標路徑下的INI文件、在文件general settings部分更改“ServiceActive=1”設置，來(lái)啟用citrix user profile management功能。別忘記要刪除此行開(kāi)頭的“分號-；”（Semicolon）使該命令生效。
當使用INI文件配置UPM時(shí)，上述操作便完成所有配置工作。
默認情況下，除管理員外所有用戶(hù)都會(huì )使用該設置作為默認設置。
如果你選擇使用組策略配置Citrix UPM，你可以在執行完第一步和第二步之后直接跳轉到第四步。
4. Launch Group Policy Management and Import the ADM file to the Group policy you wishes to apply to the servers running Xenapp / XenDesktop.

5. Edit the group policy and set the preferred settings, over time you will learn what to exclude and include.
You will find these settings under Computer Configuration/ Administrative Templates/ Citrix/ User Profile Manager. If you are using a Windows Server 2008 or a Vista machine to manage your GPOs, the path will be Computer Configuration/ Policies/ Administrative Templates/ Classic Administrative Templates (ADM)/ Citrix/ User Profile Manager. A good start is to have a look at the INI file and use the settings provided there in your GPO.
5.編輯組策略、設置首選項，隨著(zhù)時(shí)間的推移，你會(huì )了解包括什么不包括什么。
你會(huì )在Computer Configuration/ Administrative Templates/ Citrix/ User Profile Manager下找到這些設置。如果你使用Windows Server 2008 或者Vista管理GPOs（組策略對象）。最好是看一下INI文件中的設置，然后再進(jìn)行GPO設置。
Note: By default everything is included(also when using GPO) and you do not have to define anything except enable Citrix UPM in the policy.
If using GPO for configuration you should rename or delete the INI files. A GPO setting will always take precedence, but if a GPO setting is Not Configured and that setting exists in the INI, it will use the INI setting
Although you can share profiles between Win2k3 & XP and between Vista & W2k8 please refer to this FAQ on potential repercussions to take into consideration: http://support.citrix.com/article/ctx119039.
To get a clue on what Citrix UPM does, you can enable logging in the INI file by setting “LoggingEnabled=1″ or thru Group Policy by editing the imported ADM template.
注意：默認情況下，除了在策略中啟用UPM外，不需要進(jìn)行任何設置。
如果使用GPO進(jìn)行配置，這之前你需要重命名INI文件或者刪除INI文件。GPO總是具有優(yōu)先權，如果沒(méi)有配置GPO，而且在INI中存在設置，江蕙使用INI設置。

為了獲得UPM能做什么的線(xiàn)索，你可以在INI文件中通過(guò)設置“LoggingEnabled=1”來(lái)啟用日志功能，或者可以在組策略中通過(guò)編輯導入的ADM模板來(lái)啟用日志功能。
