湯米討厭上學(xué), 總是找借口不去上學(xué)。
He spends more time at home than at school.

On the days he has to go to school, he looks for excuses to come home early.
在他必須上學(xué)的日子里,他找借口早點(diǎn)回家。
One day he comes home from school in the middle of the day.

His father is surprised. “You're home early, is the school closed today?”
他的父親很驚訝?!澳慊貋?lái)得很早,今天學(xué)校關(guān)門(mén)了嗎?”
“No. Dad,” Tommy says. “It's open. I came home early.”
“沒(méi)有。爸爸,” 湯米說(shuō)?!皩W(xué)校是開(kāi)著(zhù)門(mén)的。我提前回來(lái)了?!?/p>
“How can you do that? What do you say to the teacher?”
“你怎么能這樣做? 你怎么跟老師說(shuō)的?”
“I told her that I had a new baby brother and that I had to come home and help you.”
“我告訴她我剛有了個(gè)小弟弟,我必須回家幫你?!?/p>
“But your mother has had twins,” his father says, “you've got a baby brother and a baby sister.”
“但是你媽媽生了一對雙胞胎,”他的父親說(shuō),“你有一個(gè)小弟弟和小妹妹?!?/p>
“Yes, I know, Dad,” Tommy says. “是的,我知道,爸爸,” 湯米說(shuō)。
“I'm saving up my baby sister for next week.”
“我要把我的小妹妹存起來(lái),下個(gè)星期用?!?/p>
